8:45a Casual Worship in the Chapel

11a Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary

Most would say that our style is casual, but traditional.

We offer two services on Sunday mornings -- The 8:45a service, held in the Neal Chapel (right off the Narthex),  is a little more casual but has the same worship style as the 11a service.  The later service is held in the Sanctuary at 11a.  Our pastor is engaging, and you'll find plenty of opportunity to express yourself. You may hear some Amens, but there's plenty of reverence, too.

We offer a once a month worship service geared towards children and their families, but all are welcome! Paint and Praise is  generally held the second Saturday of each month  6:30--8:00p.  Paint and Praise is a unique opportunity for God's littlest worshipers and their families to experience worship through scripture, literature, art and music.

A typical Sunday morning at McMannen is not so typical. On any given Sunday you may see drummers from Sierra Leone, an a capella group from UNC, a community leader in Durham singing children's songs, our pastor using a squirt gun to illustrate a point, or a hand-clapping, foot-stomping praise session. There is no telling what God may use!

One thing you can count on is worship that inspires and prepares the heart for a message that will challenge and guide you as you navigate life's journey. Worship is just part of our journey together; opportunities abound to grow in your faith through groups, classes, fellowship, and service. Come and see!
